Alzahra Cultural and Sport Association

Alzahra Cultural and Sport Association, an ASGP Quick Impact Grant recipient, was awarded funding to provide sports training and health education to girls and women in Kabul. Since its initial implementation, the Association expanded and operates two sports centers in Kabul City serving more than 50 women and girls.

In October, 2011, 18 women from the Alzahra Organization competed in a national gymnastics and sports competition in Afghanistan. Alzahra received numerous awards including the Strongest Women’s Cup, the Star of Weight, the Morality Cup, the First rank cup and 7 gold medals among competitors from five provinces in Afghanistan, an enormously significant achievement for Alzahra and all Afghan women.
