AWAC Mobile Theatre PSA

As a fundamental part of its elimination of violence against women campaign, CSDC led an innovative mobile theater initiative across eastern Afghanistan. In this video, CSDC held a mobile theater performance that was attended by the Deputy Governor of Nangarhar, Directors of the Departments of Women’s Affairs, Education, Information and Culture, Economy, Head of the Human Rights Commission regional office, key civil society members, and the general public. “It is our duty to work collectively in advocating for this law. Laws are not meant to remain on paper. They need to be practiced by men and women alike.” said the Director of the Department of Women’s Affairs who believes that much of the violence occurring against Afghan women is due to a lack of awareness of the law and a need for improved access to justice.
