Afghan Women’s Business Council (AWBC)

With support from an ASGP Service Delivery Grant, the Afghan Women’s Business Council (AWBC) provided training on product design and marking for more than 1,000 women in 8 districts of Kabul. ASGP helped the AWBC to strengthen their operations, improve marketing techniques and expand services to reach more vendors throughout the region. 30 AWBC sales representatives work with vendors on marketing, product promotion, pricing, and export. The Design Center helps women with packaging and marketing, and holds training classes for women vendors. AWBC has organized fairs and exhibitions to help their vendors learn marketing techniques, share lessons learned and encourage collaboration. AWBC continues operations beyond ASGP funding.
