Afghan Women’s Rights Organization (AWRO)

Funded initially through an ASGP Service Delivery Grant, the Afghan Women Rights Organization (AWRO) implemented an animal husbandry, skills training and health education project. The project taught 24 women from the community to produce milk and other dairy products from the cows and equipment provided through the grant. Classes also included health education and disease prevention. Although the ASGP-funded project is successfully completed, the classes and dairy processing are sustainable and ongoing, helping women gain a steady income and learn a marketable and lucrative skill.
