Women’s Garden – Kabul DoWA

In Kabul, the Women’s Garden also provided a marketplace for women to sell their products in a safe environment. It also houses a women’s gym, space for literacy classes and driving instruction. Thirteen ASGP Quick Impact Grant recipients created a center in the Mazar-e-Sharif Women’s Garden to provide a space to provide women with assistance to develop proposals for donor funding. ASGP program staff linked grant recipient groups with experienced business women within the community who provided mentoring, advice and support to expand grantee businesses and improve services. ASGP coordinated with the DoWA to facilitate the selection of the group’s board members and to develop strategies on how to work as a team.
